Drift Cycle – La Crosse Community Bike Share

Drift Cycle public bike share launched in April 2021 in the beautiful city of La Crosse, Wisconsin located between the shores of the Mississippi and the scenic bluffs of the Driftless region. La Crosse Neighborhoods, Inc. serves as the host non-profit for this volunteer-led, public-private partnership of generous local businesses and institutions looking to improve our community.

We are excited to build on our first successful year with over 2000 riders! For 2022 we have added two new sponsors – University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and Gundersen Health System. This year 50 bikes will be located around the city at 10 sponsored stations for visitors, commuters, and community members to enjoy. Future phases will serve additional sponsors and rider demand so that someday 100+ bicycles may be widely available throughout the La Crosse area and region.

Drift bike share provides a more sustainable transportation option for residents and tourists with affordable memberships. New users get a free 60min ride, compliments of the sponsors, by entering a promo code upon sign-up. Users are able to rent multiple bikes at a time from one account, ideal for families and small groups.

Our Mission: Drift Cycle is a La Crosse public bike share program serving as an integral part of the transportation network with easy-to-use rental bikes for residents, commuters, and visitors that provides an affordable, sustainable option contributing to the health and vibrancy of the community.

PEDAL POSITIVELY! – GET OUTSIDE – HOP AROUND DOWNTOWN

Together the partners will encourage cycling through bike share, host events, provide education, and improve access and safety for bicycles as well as pedestrians.  Drift welcomes additional partners and community members interested in joining our efforts to provide the benefits of bike share.
